Helena Lynn doesn’t talk much about herself.
When asked about her most memorable tennis accomplishments, she talks about her partner and doubles teammate. When asked what she’s most proud of, she mentions her family.
At just 12 years old, Lynn shows perspective well beyond her years.
She also has a lot of game.
The past year has been incredible for Lynn on the tennis court. She had a number of strong finishes at local and national tournaments, most recently winning a Girls’ Level 3 Champions
Philadelphia Rec Center Receives $45,000 To Teach Kids More Than Just Tennis
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — A North Philadelphia rec center has new resurfaced tennis courts thanks to funding from the city and private organizations, and the sport will be the hook to engage neighborhood kids.
With the cutting of the ribbon on the Penrose Tennis Court at 11th and Susquehanna, the games began — well officially.

During a meeting at Bodine High School (1101 North 4th Street) on Wednesday, February 15th, community leaders gathered to officially kick off the Down the Line and Beyond Foundation’s new tennis program. The new program will allow Bodine High School students to participate in after-school clinics that use tennis as a foundation to support character and educational development.
